Skills and expertise as a customer-focused strategic leader, collaborator, and influencer are key to interacting effectively with various stakeholders in relation to Dyson events.
About the role
This role reports into the Director of Facilities UK and works collaboratively with other Heads of department to ensure high standards are maintained. This role is accountable for the Catering operations across our UK sites, as well as the leadership of our UK catering teams.
Operational lead the catering team, in both in-sourced and out-sourced situations
Advise on strategies for outsourcing of catering operations
Work with colleagues in Estates Delivery to assess new Dyson locations in the UK, identifying whether catering should be in-house/out-house, and carry out workforce planning
Check and approve architecture and design for new catering locations and refurbishments to ensure they meet the needs and requirements of the catering team
Identify continuous improvements such as simplifying processes and implementing solutions to enable the cafes to deliver to high volumes to ensure consistency, improved standards, and customer experience
Manage and negotiate contracts with preferred suppliers, ensuring terms align with Dyson's standards and expectations. Serve as the primary escalation point in the management of supplier relationships
Ensure compliance and risk management within supplier contracts, guaranteeing adherence to Dyson’s procurement and legal standards
Work to implement new ideas and ensure standards are maintained through the catering team
Act as the single point of contact for event requests
Lead the people management of the Catering teams, ensuring we attract and retain the right people
Works collaboratively with Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to deliver new initiatives, e.g., Communications
Manage expectations of senior stakeholders and actively seek feedback from the business
Oversee financial accountability and budgeting for the Catering department, ensuring efficient cost management
Organise and source new equipment
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety Standards, COSHH, and Food Hygiene, ensuring the catering team is compliant
About you
Experienced in leading both in-sourced and outsourced catering operations
Proven ability to proactively manage and outsource supplier, managing relationships and where required using the contract to resolve issues and drive outcomes
An experienced leader who understands the logistics and operations of running both events and in-house and out-house catering offerings
Proficient in contract management with a proven track record of negotiating and managing supplier contracts
Able to drive standards, consistency, and quality through the Head Chef/chef managers
Experienced in negotiating with suppliers
Capable of making sound decisions on continuous improvement.
A strong communicator and influencer to ensure all locations are aligned
Demonstrates good stakeholder management and can manage expectations
