Function Overview

The Senior Analyst role sits within the Finance team, a function which is critical to the success and stability of the business. The team focuses on two main areas; (i) financial control, and (ii) commercial analysis, reporting and planning.

The team supports processes and decision making for the short, medium and long term, as well as providing a level of control and structure to the wider organization.


About the Role

The Senior Analyst, APAC Finance role is a dynamic and highly visible role at Dyson, responsible for providing the organization with the sales reporting and analysis required to drive a deep understanding of underlying APAC markets business, and the internal and external factors that impact on this. 

Leveraging this knowledge and insight, the Senior Analyst will collaborate closely with the APAC Leadership Teams and APAC Markets Finance Directors to execute month-end closing processes and conduct comprehensive analyses. This includes preparing detailed reviews for Exco, offering in-depth analysis to inform strategic decision-making.

Accountabilities:

Month end closing and analysis

  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of weekly sales performance, including Sales Out, Sales In, and Trade Stocks.
  • Identify, communicate, and explain movements and emerging trends in Products and Channel performance / mix
  • Thoroughly understand and analyze cost structures, taking responsibility for channel/category P&L. 

Business partnering

  • Drive a return on investment (ROI) approach to sales and marketing initiatives in retail and e-commerce channels. Use sales data to quantify performance improvements and collaborate to make data-driven decisions for future initiatives.

Managing working capital

  • Oversee the monthly working capital KPIs of markets, providing insightful recommendations for improvement.
  • Validate monthly cash flow forecasts and track actual performance against these forecasts

People

  • Establish strong working relationships with other functions, particularly with the leadership team


About You

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Commercial Finance or FP&A function, preferably within MNCs in the retail and ecommerce sectors
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance or equivalent
  • Commercially astute and comfortable being hands-on, balancing strong attention to detail with the ability to take a wider view of the business and its strategy
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong capability working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience with SAP (or similar ERP)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present analysis and recommendations to both finance and business leaders
  • Self-starter and results-driven, seeing things through to completion and always looking for ways to improve things
  • Analytical mindset, able to translate data into meaningful insights and drive actions that improve results
  • Agile and adaptable, enjoys collaborating across functions and improving existing ways of working
