The Planning team creates and manages a value chain that delivers an end-to-end comprehensive plan to meet the business targets. They orchestrate several activities across various stages of the value chain, which includes Category, Commercial, Finance, Operations, Logistics and RDD to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of our products to customers and owners. 

About the Role

Within Dyson's Supply Chain Global Planning Department, the New Product Management (NPM) Manager plays a critical role in ensuring alignment between sales and operations for seamless execution of launch strategies, delivering according to market plans. This role is responsible for driving the end-to-end planning strategy for the mid- and long-term across all business units. From a system, demand and supply planning, and inventory optimization perspective, the NPM Manager ensures the global supply chain operates smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively, contributing to overall business success.

The ideal candidate is an expert in strategic planning both in Demand and Supply and has a proven track record of optimising a production and distribution network end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generates feasibility simulations of different launch scenarios proposed by the BU, taking the planning parameters (lead time, local seeding distribution, minimal launch quantity, SOP dates) into account.

  • Validation of the final plan in SAP IBP, ensuring all required settings are in place.

  • Ensure the ramp plans translates to market launch plan.

  • Collaborate with GSC Outsource Operation, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Procurement and Outsource Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, and Global & Regional Supply Chain and Revenue team to ensure alignment on supply chain initiatives.

  • Operationalize and execute the PIPO plan with limited disruption.

  • Drive data-driven decision-making across the global planning team by using advanced analytics tools and methods.

  • Collaboration with Operations on capacity at the Contract Manufactory based on single and multi-sourcing tactical strategies (production network optimisation)

  • Allocations in capacity constrained situations, aligned with stakeholders within IBP.

  • Lead global planning meetings to drive communication and coordination across all functions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

About You

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree majoring in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably within a consumer-facing industry and/or an organization with a well-established omnichannel infrastructure. Significant experience in long-term planning utilizing advanced planning parameters is highly desirable.

  • Supply chain/operations certification a plus, such as APICS, CPIM or lean.

  • Broad understanding of interdependencies between functions (commercial, sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and manufacturing) and the associated cause-and-effect relationships.

  • Deep knowledge of demand planning, supply and inventory planning, new products introduction, resource allocation, master production schedule (MPS) and distribution requirement planning (DRP).

  • Excellent analytical skills with expertise in complex decision-making, including proficiency in modelling, regression analysis, and the ability to work effectively with statistical models.

  • Proven track record in production network optimisation

  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience and respond constructively to new demands and challenges.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
