About the Role
Lead and coordinate the procurement activity on a country level.
Drive procurement value contribution and excellent service while ensuring compliance with policies and processes.
Implement procurement strategy and plan.
Contribute to vendor selection, cost saving and process optimization.
Report savings and optimizations.
Manage procurement system - ARIBA, with central procurement department.
Strategy and Sourcing
Strategy development and execution of the indirect categories such as marketing/sales service, professional service, logistics, HR and travel, etc.
Manage competitive bidding processes and leading negotiations with vendors to achieve or exceed agreed saving targets
Continually monitoring compliance across the indirect spend and driving corrective action as necessary.
Helping to develop a supply base to build the capacity and capability to deliver Dyson’s business’ requirements in Japan.
Supporting Dyson’s supplier management and corporate, social and environmental standards programmes within the supply base.
Spend analysis and saving potential findings.
Set economic and/or qualitative targets for each procurement action.
Customers / Stakeholders
Directly engage with stakeholders in the business and develop working relationships with them to ensure appropriate challenge to the business.
Engage with fellow team members in APAC and within the wider Global Indirect Procurement Team to keep them appraised of project progress.
Work with colleagues in the Global team to ensure we deploy the best knowledge into our procurement approach.
Work with Legal, Internal Controls, Cyber security, Privacy, Finance and other functions within Japan and more broadly at Dyson locations in the UK and Singapore to ensure risk and compliance are managed within the supply base.
Educate the Global team on the nuances of the market in Japan to ensure Global initiatives reflect Japan requirements.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Deliver a pipeline of projects to achieve or exceed agreed savings target.
Ensure category and project data (savings, pipeline, milestones, risks, issues, taxonomy) is accurate and reflective of reality
Manage expenses analysis.
Supplier performance monitoring process development and manage relationship with key vendors.
Contract Management.
Operate and guide ARIBA modules, both upstream and downstream, with procurement team at HQ and procurement operation team in DBS.
Contribute to the internal communication, procurement projects, referenced suppliers, terms & conditions and procurement guideline. Ensure quality of content and compliance with relevant sourcing / procurement rules and category planning governance
About You
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Experience
Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in procurement field and in operating expenses control with proven ability to develop and deliver strategic vision, clear understanding of indirect procurement management and experienced in best practices, tools, process.
Demonstrable experience of supplier relationship management
Working experiences for the medium or large size of the foreign affiliated company.
Experience of working with international teams in a global business
Specific experience in media and marketing procurement is preferred.

Fluent level Japanese & Business level English.
Strong communication and complex negotiation skills.
Good interpersonal skills, which encourage the communications among the team.
Strategic thinking on procurement directions and rich in new approaches.
Good numeracy and analytical skills
Good organizational skills with an ability to work to strict deadlines.

Good knowledge or experiences with ARIBA is plus.
Microsoft Office skill, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience in general affairs is plus.
