About The Role
Key deliverables for this role include:
Process Design and Management
- Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of efficient accounts payable processes
- Develop and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Create process flow diagrams and documentation to support training and audit requirements
- Identify opportunities for standardization across business units or regions
- Conduct regular process reviews to ensure alignment with business needs and industry best practices
Performance Optimization
- Analyze current AP workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and bottlenecks
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Standardizing workflows across departments or locations
Technology and System Management
- Oversee AP automation systems and tools, ensuring optimal configuration
- Collaborate with IT on system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve AP operations
- Develop business requirements for system improvements
- Ensure data integrity within AP systems and database
Change / Project Management
- Developing implementation plans for process changes
- Managing stakeholder communications
- Facilitating user adoption of new processes
- Measuring the effectiveness of implemented changes
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide guidance and mentorship to AP team members on process excellence
- Develop and deliver training programs on AP processes and systems
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between AP and other departments
- Lead process improvement workshops and change initiatives
About You
We're looking for someone that has:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in accounts payable operations
- Experience in process management or improvement
- Demonstrated success in implementing process optimization initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
- Experience with AP automation systems and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
- Proficiency in process mapping and workflow design methodologies
- Experience with process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Change management and stakeholder engagement expertise
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
- Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
- Process improvement certification (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
- Project management experience or certification a plus
- Experience with shared service center operations beneficial
- Knowledge of international AP operations and regulations desirable
