About the role

In this role you will create an exciting and engaging store environment by managing and driving a dynamic event calendar that brings the Dyson experience to life for consumers. You’ll define compelling product offerings, turning curious visitors into Dyson owners, while knowing each product inside and out to inspire your team and customers alike. Collaborating with marketing, PR, sales, and finance teams, you’ll execute promotions and initiatives. As a strong people manager, you’ll build, train, and lead a high-performing team while overseeing operations such as inventory and merchandising. You’ll monitor key metrics, report actionable insights, and maintain flexibility to meet business needs.

Leading the store team

  • Provide seven-day leadership for the store, ensuring consistent management and leadership coverage across all hours of operation.
  • Foster a fun, engaging, and ambitious team culture where staff feel valued, recognized, and encouraged to share ideas for store improvement.
  • Take line management responsibility for Assistant Managers/Supervisors, supporting them in day-to-day operations and addressing complex people matters.
  • Develop and implement realistic short- and medium-term retail operating plans while tailoring strategies to adapt to ambiguity and last-minute changes.
  • Establish clear communication, track performance metrics, and ensure staff are fully informed of promotions, objectives, and measures of success.

Service, sales and profitability

  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales and profitability targets by monitoring performance and developing improvement plans.
  • Track weekly traffic, demonstrations, and conversions, providing regular sales summaries and actionable insights to the leadership team.
  • Lead and inspire the team to create exceptional customer experiences while delivering business growth through coaching and development.
  • Ensure a sustainable and efficient retail platform that balances customer satisfaction with compliance, cost control, and operational excellence.
  • Continuously build and share product knowledge, supporting live events that engage and educate customers while ensuring omni-channel consistency.

Leading a high level of retail execution

  • Recruit, train, and mentor store staff to ensure sustained motivation and deliver exacting retail standards every day.
  • Review shopping patterns, customer demographics, and staffing mix to optimize team deployment for exceptional customer experiences.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to influence business development while sharing best practices across stores and markets.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency procedures, operational manuals, and safety standards to protect customers and staff while monitoring stock levels and cash handling processes.
  • Host store visits with senior VIPs confidently and act as an ambassador for Dyson in local forums and external partnerships.

Cost Control

  • Maintain a tight control on all expenditure, working with the Direct Retail Manager and Finance to measure overall success.
  • Continually review results, establish clear measures, sharing insights and revise as needed to drive performance.
  • Work closely with third parties to ensure they are spending in line with the budgets provided.

About you

  • 4+ years of retail store management experience
  • Available to work during weekends and bank holidays
  • Extensive experience in a customer-facing sales setting. Cross industry experience is welcome, as is a background in event management.
  • Understands operations, managing work schedules, stock management, compliance, health and safety, security and all day to day requirements of running a store.
  • Experience in building, developing and leading a team.
  • Previous experience working with / in a premium brand.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
