About the Role

We are seeking a Supply Chain Operations Manager to lead supply chain execution across the Japan market, with clear accountability for customer fulfilment, operational performance and continuous improvement.

This role plays a central part in ensuring stable, high-quality operations while balancing service, cost and risk. Working closely with Commercial, Finance and external partners, you will take ownership of day-to-day execution as well as contribute to broader market priorities and long-term capability building.

The position reports directly to the Head of Supply Chain and requires a strong operational leader who is comfortable engaging at both operational and strategic levels.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-

  • Lead end to end supply chain operations for the Japan market, covering inbound activities, order management and last mile fulfilment

  • Ensure consistent, reliable customer fulfilment aligned with service commitments and market expectations

  • Own operational escalations, setting clear direction and coordinating internal teams and external partners to resolve issues effectively

  • Balance service levels, operational risk and cost efficiency in decision making

  • Lead performance management of outsourced logistics and service partners across the market

  • Establish clear performance governance through KPIs, service level reviews and corrective action plans

  • Proactively identify structural risks, capacity constraints or performance gaps and drive sustainable improvements

  • Build strong, professional relationships with partners based on trust, clarity and accountability

  • Act as a trusted supply chain partner to Commercial teams, ensuring operational feasibility and risks are clearly understood

  • Provide operational leadership input to Joint Business Planning, promotions and peak trading periods

  • Support operational readiness for new product launches and major customer initiatives

  • Ensure strong alignment between commercial priorities and supply chain execution

  • Own and review market level fulfilment and operational KPIs

  • Analyse performance trends, risks and opportunities using structured, data-based insights

  • Partner closely with Finance on cost management, budgeting, accruals and efficiency initiatives

  • Ensure operational actions align with financial targets and broader market objectives

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen reliability, resilience and efficiency

  • Drive standardisation and improvement of operational processes across the market

  • Act as a role model for accountability, collaboration and operational discipline

  • Support capability development within the supply chain organisation

About You

To be successful in this role you will have proven ability to lead escalations, manage risk and make balanced operational decisions. You are structured, pragmatic and have a data informed leadership style.

Previous skills & experience:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Business or a related field

  • Extensive experience in supply chain operations, fulfilment or logistics within a market or hub environment

  • Strong background in managing outsourced partners and complex operational networks

  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders across Commercial and Finance
