Sculpting a future that aligns with my passion
Jason
Motor Drives Engineer, Philippines
Gaining insight beyond textbooks
As a curious mind, I started exploring the world of tech from a very young age. My family would often gift me random gadgets, electronics, and even enroll me into robotics classes to cater to my interests as a kid. In short, I have always loved exploring tech, learning, and bringing my ideas to life.
I joined Dyson in 2022. I've always seen it as a fulfilment of my parents' advice: "Find a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." As a Graduate Motor Drives Engineer, I analyse market returns, identify potential improvements, and support manufacturing operations. I also work on New Product Development, where we develop prototypes and formulate solutions to a plethora of engineering challenges. Working in the Dyson labs has never been mundane for me. Each day brings forth new challenges, and every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.
For me, the best thing about being a graduate is that people encourage you to explore and ask questions about everything. Working alongside bright minds taught me not to fear making mistakes, whilst still being careful. My team understands that going through iterations and making mistakes is a key part of developing quality products that showcase the newest technologies in the market.
Through working at Dyson, I have gained so much insight into various aspects of physics and engineering that textbooks alone could not teach. Every project is an opportunity to contribute to technological advancements. The excitement of being part of a team that pushes the boundaries is a learning opportunity that I really look forward to every day.
Looking back at the time I've spent at Dyson so far, the wealth of knowledge and experiences I've accumulated is virtually limitless. At Dyson, I am not just building my career but also sculpting my future that aligns with the very core of my passion for science, technology, and innovation.
