Bringing Dyson’s philosophy to life across retail channels

I joined Dyson in 2013 as an Area Sales Manager, responsible for around 100 home electronics retail stores. My role involved driving sell-out, negotiating in-store displays, training sales staff, and organising sales events during peak periods. Spending time on the shop floor taught me about the industry, consumer needs, Dyson’s unique strengths, and the company’s philosophy.

In 2015, I transitioned to a Key Account Manager role, where I was in charge of electronics retailer accounts and wholesale accounts. My focus was on planning and negotiating sales promotions and inventory strategies to achieve targets and grow Dyson’s market share. Then, in 2023, I moved to the E-commerce team to take on sales planning for the online retail store. Drawing from my offline sales experience, I worked to maximise sell-out while ensuring Dyson’s flagship channel retained its leadership. Now, in 2024, I manage a large retailer account, utilising my expertise in both offline and online business to craft strategies tailored to channel characteristics and negotiate inventory plans with buyers.

A typical day involves collaborating closely with team members to achieve targets. My workflow follows a cycle: managing daily sell-out and sell-in numbers, identifying actions to address gaps or capitalise on successes, coordinating internally across functions such as Sales, Planning, Brand, Finance and Supply Chain, as well as negotiating with our partners.

Every day, I’m motivated to solve problems, enrich lives, and spread the joy our technology brings. The most satisfying moments come when we achieve our goals, and customers or business partners express their gratitude for our efforts. These moments reaffirm why I love what I do.
