The power of curiosity and change

I’ve always been passionate about working with people and helping them find solutions, which is what drew me to HR. I started at Dyson within the People Enablement Team, supporting the Canadian business, and was responsible for partnering with senior managers to execute business initiatives.

A key moment in my Dyson career was early on when I expressed an interest in Total Rewards. My manager was very supportive, arranging opportunities for me to get involved in their projects. Eventually, a role opened up, and I transitioned into the team, where I’ve been supporting ever since. This move allowed me to expand my expertise and take on new challenges in an area I’m passionate about.

Since then, I’ve transitioned into a new role on the Reward Team, supporting the Americas region. This shift has taken me behind the scenes, still focusing on supporting our people but in a different capacity. The role sees me focusing on the total rewards strategy and execution across the region.

One of my proudest achievements at Dyson was successfully transitioning into this role and taking on exciting projects, including a competitive analysis of our Total Rewards offerings. This project provided valuable insights that helped shape strategic decisions regarding our compensation and benefits packages.

Working at Dyson has allowed me to develop valuable skills in incentive plan design, compensation methodology, and market benchmarking. I’ve also refined my ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple projects at once.

My advice to others navigating their career at Dyson is to stay open-minded and proactive. Explore different areas of the business, talk to your manager about your interests, and build relationships across teams. Dyson encourages personal growth, and stepping outside your comfort zone will lead to exciting new opportunities.

Dyson’s growth is incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited for what lies ahead, especially with the amazing team I work with.
