Malmesbury

Our Malmesbury campus was established in 1993. It is the base for over 3,500 Dyson people and also home to the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The heart of Dyson

Dyson’s technology ambitions and global growth mean that what started as one building in Malmesbury, has evolved into a technology campus spread across 50 acres. Our spaces evolve, as does the future we are creating together. The vast campus is home to thousands of people, including James and Jake Dyson, who spend their days strategising, inventing technology and telling the Dyson story to the world.

Inspiring surroundings

Our campus is a unique place to work. There are 129 state-of-the-art laboratories, a Harrier Jump Jet in the car park, a Lightning Jet hanging from the ceiling in one of our cafés and other examples of inspirational engineering around the campus. There are landscaped nature walks, intriguing art works, a free gym, on-site hair salon, coffee bars and cafés serving free hot drinks and lunches, and a variety of spaces for Dyson people.

An open secret

Our secluded location helps us to protect our ideas and stay independent-minded, home to our top secret engineering teams, creative and support functions. Yet nearby are the fashionable cities of Bristol and Bath, where a young James Dyson invented cyclone technology. The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology is also based on campus for the growing population of Dyson undergraduate engineers – it is a place of work, a place of education and their home.

Diversity across campus

A vibrant community of people with a wide range of skill sets and disciplines, we look for the best minds with individual perspectives, backgrounds and experiences. Each year, Dyson people team-up to take part in 'Challenge Dyson', a light-hearted internal event focused around unusual challenges, such as Dyson’s very own escape room experience. Over a week, teams in South East Asia, China and Japan took on the challenge, and 200 new Graduates and Undergraduate engineers were put through their paces with the puzzles welcoming them to Dyson.

Festive spirit

While end of year celebrations looked a bit different this year, there was plenty of festive spirit at the Dyson Christmas Market. We invited local businesses to our campus so that our people could do some Christmas shopping and enjoy the festive season in the fresh air.

Back to nature

Dyson Malmesbury is home to a range of biodiversity. From woodland to ponds, the campus provides a enticing environment for all kinds of flora and fauna. Insect hotels, bird boxes and hibernaculums have been placed around our campus and are managed by the Grounds Maintenance team to promote local ecosystems. The nature trail is a 1.7km walk through woodland, offering Dyson people an alternative setting for a meeting, lunch, or simply an opportunity to stretch their legs.
