From internship to innovation in Brand Management

Launching Hair Care Innovation and setting new standards

My path to Dyson started with an exciting internship opportunity. During my internship, I worked closely with the Marketing team, supporting the launch of our V15 cordless range and leading our first TikTok influencer campaign. After completing the internship, I gained a wealth of transferable skills and experiences in brand management, as well as valuable relationships within Dyson. This has motivated me to join Dyson as a full-time Assistant Brand Manager after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2022.

A typical day in my role involves collaborating with key stakeholders from various departments like marketing, sales,supply chain, as well as our agency partners and  global counterparts. Together, we strategise and execute projects, campaigns, and launches, embracing the dynamic nature of brand management at Dyson.

Working in Brand is like solving a jigsaw puzzle – you never know what pieces you’ll get, but you adapt quickly to solve the task at hand and create a masterpiece. Personally, I love that no day is ever the same, it always gives me something new to look forward to! 

One of my favourite parts in my role is launching Hair Care innovation in the Canadian market. I love the collaborative spirit at Dyson, where we leverage each other's expertise to brainstorm ideas and overcome challenges. Success, for me, is witnessing the collective effort of the Dyson team in bringing innovation to life.

At Dyson, problem-solving is part of our DNA. Drawing inspiration from my theatre background, I embrace the "yes, and" improvisation mindset, staying open to change, adapting swiftly, and fostering agility within our fast-paced environment. I've had the opportunity to improve internal processes for launch timelines and campaign management, setting new standards for efficiency and innovation within our commercial teams. It’s rewarding to see the process efficiencies being used by others as a standard for planning.
